The framing began today, we are sub-contracting the framing out to Gideon. He comes highly recommended, and has done a lot of work for AP Williams, the same place that Bill did a lot of work. They accomplished a lot for the first day. The basement side walls are framed, with the window opening and the double french door openings in the basement. The 1st floor boards are down and almost ready for plywood. The trusses are ordered but are not expected to arrive until next Friday. Which should not trip up the framers too much, they should be ready for them right about that time. We ordered steeper trusses for the garage so that we can have ample storage (attic) above the garage. We ordered the crane for the trusses also. We had one small problem with supplies (the wrong beam was ordered) however we are going to work around this and can make this work out ok. It is neat to see the progress, it won't be much longer and we will have to start using our own hands to get some major work done. Once the house is framed, we will need to get the roof (shingles) on and start electrical and plumbing. We will sub the drywall and insulation out, but the rest is pretty much up to us. We are excited and working on making our final decision for siding, shingles, and stone work.
