We spent all weekend working on electrical for the new house, you just do not realize how much electric is in a house until you run the wires. My main job was running the outlet plugs, Bill worked on running the main lines to the meter/panel box. My dad worked on framing in our living room closet and installing our microwave vent. It was a very productive weekend, as we got a lot done.
On Saturday we went to Home Depot to purchase more wiring, microwave, hot water heater, patio retaining wall bricks, and some light fixtures. When we got back from Home Depot, Bill installed the patio retaining wall and I ran Elijah to his all star 12-year old game. Bill was able to make it for the second half, I know this made Elijah's day. After the game, we went back to the house to install more electrical wiring.
On Sunday, Dad helped all day, this was a HUGE help. Dustin helped for a few hours. Mom helped by watching Hannah for us so I could help Bill with the electrical. It is so overwelming to us at times. We are just so appeciative for the help that we have been getting, it means so much to us.
Bill continued to work on ceiling light/fan fixture wiring on Monday, Larry came to help him some with the electric. I had my doctors appointment and ultrasound, which I was so bummed that Bill could not come to. I know he felt bad and really wanted to be there for it, but time constraints would not allow for it. Hopefully I will have another ultrasound that he can come to. Monday night we met with the Realitor about selling our old house, we have so much to do there as well to get it ready to list, we have to sand and stain the living room floor, steps, and hallway. We have to repaint the living room and hallway stairs, as well as a final coat on the cabinets and trim in the kitchen, we then have to install the cabinet doors and declutter. Mom suggested we move out of the house all together so the work can more easily be done and the house could be shown more readily and easily. This is likely what will need to be done but the thought of leaving the house before it sells is sad, we have been there for ten years and have a lot of memories there.
On Tuesday he did final touches on the panel box for inspection on Wednesday. Tuesday night Dan and Dave Weaver came over to help, they framed in the doorway for the laundry room. We have the rest of this week and weekend to finish up framing the basement, doing electrical in basement, and finishing electrical in the house to be ready for insulation on Monday. The drywaller is coming out on Wednesday, Oct 17 to start the drywall. It will be so nice once the drywall is up.
We have been planning for a Mid November move, but it is looking more like a mid Dec move now. We just have so much to do and have not got the help that we anticipated from our friends. Since the majority of the time it is just Bill, me, and my Dad things are taking longer to get finished than was anticipated.
