Tonight Bill and my dad are marking the house dimensions on the land, this is important for the appraisal and also PP&L who will be visiting the site soon to determine where the electrical lines will be coming up (underground Hopefully) and where the meter will go etc. We received our sewer permit in the mail yesterday, so now we just have to get the builders permit and then wait for the appraisal to come back. Once the appraisal comes back, we should be able to close/breakground within 2 weeks from that point.
In the meantime we need to fine tune our budget and get bids out for the work that we plan to subcontract out. We are on a pretty tight budget with not a lot of wiggle room, so we need to be as frugal as possible with the selections for in the house, such as faucets, lighting, door knobs, etc. The areas that I do not want to skimp are the flooring, windows, kitchen, and heating/cooling system (geothermal.)
On the current home front, we started laying the laminent flooring in Elijah's room and it looks great, we are pretty excited, we were hoping to use the existing hardwood, but it had too many blemishes and some areas where it was pieced together, we want the room to look nice for potential buyers, so we decided to go ahead and buy the flooring so it will be nicer looking.
