Builder's Permit is ready

Our builders permit is approved, we have to pay $949.00 and then they will have our permit for us by tomorrow. We are set to escavate on Sat, unless there are issues with tepco (pipleline people). We called them yesterday to inform that we will be breaking ground, she said we should be good to go by Monday then, we said, ummmm we have the escavator scheduled for Saturday, so said ok, they normally require 3 business days, but she will put it in the system that we plan to start escavating on Saturaday. Hopefully there are no issues.

The meeting with Nyce went well, we are penciled in for 7/16- 7/18, but he is pretty sure that they will be able to get in sooner than that, he is almost positive that he will be having a cancelization. This of course was music to our ears.

Our meeting with Pella windows is on Tuesday. Everything is on schedule so far.

Escavator was out and informed that it is in our best interest to share our driveway entry way with our neighbor (who had suggested we do that from the start). There are two rather large trees that would need removed and they are leaning toward power poles. If we remove them, it will cost us 2,000 more in escavating because we would have to hire a tree remover. Our escavator will not take the liability of trying to get them to fall the right way, if it were to fall into the power line it would likely be over 5,000 in damages. We talked to our neighbor and he is completely ok with us using his entryway, or actually with us widening the entryway for our driveway to go in there. This actually would be benefitial to him too because he would like his driveway widened due to trying to bring his camper in his driveway. Sounds like it is a win win for everyone.

Our mail box is in and ready for mail. One less thing to do later. When Bill was on the land yesterday to tie off the house with pins for the escavator he saw a snake. This is the first snake that we have seen on the land. It freaked me out of course, but I guess when you build in the woods, you have to become one with nature.

That's funny. The mailbox is in before you even start building.

Can you tell we are sick of having a PO Box? It would not be so bad but the post office closes at night and there are many nights that we cannot get our mail because we do not get there in time after sporting games etc.
